Designs for a newly saved piece of Art Deco history, working with a National Lottery Heritage Fund advisor

Following a campaign in Brighton & Hove to save this historic Art Deco lido from the bulldozer, this was a community-led restoration project.

My commission was to find ways to communicate and reflect the architectural and social history of the building in the community as the restoration work began.

We considered the reception area, cafe and changing rooms to be key areas to place interpretation.

This included using reflective materials, seaside themes, and interactive flip boards.

These helped to convey real-life stories from the Lido’s heyday.
