Creating a versatile food-sampling customer station… on wheels!
The brief was to design a Bronze, Silver and Gold-level food sampling customer station, for promotional activities in-store.
The design needed to represent the Waitrose values of style and assurance, be on wheels, and have multi-functionality.
After establishing the look and feel I presented an exhaustive range of winning solutions and ‘hacks’ to explore ways of engaging and communicating with the public.
Bronze Treatment
The smallest solution, this had: baskets for storage, Cook Well magazine holder, recipe card holder, display for veg and other products, plus an interchangeable banner. It had a pull-out table top for added space and customer engagement. The stool could be easily stored away so the whole unit could be wheeled into location.
Silver Treatment
Based on the core elements above, this had an added door which swings open to provide a large visual area for messaging, or to hold the day-to-day recipe cards.
Gold Treatment
The biggest version of the design, this solution folded out to create a dedicated space. The counter is slatted in to the portable unit and placed centre to the corner structure.
These designs were later re-branded for a proposal for another retail outlet:
